I fished for bass at the southern end of Dynamite Ditch, Capsie's Creek and Block House Channel and other places in the 60's and 70's. Then, there was an influx of salt water and the Bass fishing deteriorated. Is it back? I live in Florida and am 75. A fishing trip to Knott's Island is on my "Bucket List".
I fish in a small lake, Lake Miona, in The Villages, Florida and in the retention ponds. Here's a video of me catching one in a retention pond
Anyway, let me know about the Bass fishing at Knott's Island, please.

Jerry
we are generally having great luck with the bass fshing here on the island.
stripers, flounder catfish and white perch at the bridge.
green bass, grenel, and perch and catfish in the canals back on the refuge.
hope this helps you out.

Thanks, bjh. That is good news. I never heard of Stripers and flounder being caught in the 60's. That's also a nice turn.
By the "bridge", I assume the bridge on the causeway, 615?
Is the sound grassy? A weed we called "Mill Foil" was ever present when I was fishing there?
Thanks, again.
