I just found out my dad was in the 1938 production of The Lost Colony. I was able to obtain a copy of the original playbill with his name and some random pictures that were taken of him. I was so excited!! I am looking for anyone with any information now to help me fill in as many blanks as I can about that time. His name is John Aldon Waterman. He was born November 19, 1919 or 1920 and he died in December 1966. I want to start tracing the family tree. I know my cousin, Timmy Williams, has traced a lot and I will contact him. In the meantime, if anyone can tell me anything they know about him or any of my family, please let me know. My dad died when I was 9 and there were a lot of questions I did not have a chance to ask. My grandfathers name is John Wright Waterman and we called my grandmother Mama Mollie. She was adopted by the Ansell's. My Aunt's were Grace Williams, Bernie Ewell and Miriam McCauley. My Uncles were Phillip Waterman, Wylie Waterman and I think I had an uncle Cory that died, but I'm not sure. Thank you so much for any information you may have. I have heard my whole life that my dad was in the Lost Colony, but I never knew when. I had no idea it would mean so much to me to find that history. I cried in the archive office when I saw his picture. It made such an impression that I know I have to find out more.

I will ask our history group. I am assuming your roots are in Knotts Island.
