Reverse mortgages may be the only way to get a little money for retirement for some people. I've been doing some studying on the subject and I found (to date) that it's the simplest way to make your hard earned equity work for you.
But beware. I've read about the unreputables getting into the business with the purpose of scamming. They're out there.

My grandmother obtained a $4,000.00 "reverse mortgage" from Well's Fargo. She was 88. She "wanted to do it on her own" and the loan officer didn't insist otherwise. When she passed, the loan cost us $26,000.00.

With no details to work with, I'm thinking it doesn't sound like a reverse mortgage if it was obtained through Wells Fargo.
